Description
Siglent SVA1015X Spectrum / Vector Network Analyser
The SVA1015X is a Spectrum and Vector Network Analyser with a Frequency Range up to 1.5GHz. Siglent’s SVA1000X series spectrum & vector network analysers are powerful and flexible tools for broadcast and RF device testing. With a wide frequency range from 9kHz to 1.5GHz, the analyser delivers reliable automatic measurements and plenty of features including a tracking generator and multiple modes of operation: the base model is a swept super heterodyne spectrum analyser and optional functions include a vector network analyser, a Frequency Domain Reflectometer based distance-to-fault locator, and a modulation analyser. Applications include broadcast monitoring/evaluation, site surveying, EMI pre-compliance, research and development, education, production, and maintenance.
Purchase of SVA mechanical calibration kit recommended for VNA use.

Amazing peice of kit. I used to use a Marconi spectrum analyser that weighed 40Kg and went to a maximum frequency of 110MHz. The 1015x is the slowest of the range and goes to 1,500MHz. On top of that you get a vector network analyser which would have been another 40Kg and cost a fortune. The instrument is surprisingly easy to use with a combination of buttons and touch screen. You don’t need any supporting software if you network it and use the instruments built in web server and any web browser. I haven’t been able to push it beyond it’s limits yet, it just does as asked. Brilliant peice of technology at a very good price.

I have owned a few different spectrum analysers over the last 45 years or so from HP and Tektronix. I bought this analyser/VNA mainly for two reasons, I wanted a VNA and I wanted something small and light. Having had time to explore most of this instrumentβs features, I have to say that I am very impressed and pleased with its performance. It represents outstanding value for money and the touch screen makes it very easy to use. This is the third instrument that I have bought from Telonic and their service is second to none.

So far loving the new analyser, and will most likely add the Digital De-modulation option in the near future. Service from Telonic was superb. Regular updates and very accommodating when the stock position changed and we had to wait a bit longer than anticipated for delivery. Would definitely recommend both the product and the company.

Goodness me, spectrum analysers have come on a lot since I used them regularly as a young radio technician some 50 years ago! As a radio amateur I have numerous uses for a spectrum analyser and will no doubt find the built in VNA useful at some stage. The analyser has already helped me to track down some annoying interference to an 868MHz radio modem link and check out the spectral purity of a recently completed 144MHz 400W linear amplifier. So far I am very happy with my purchase. The large touchscreen is excellent and was one of the principal factors in deciding to go with Siglent. So far I am a happy user: It joins my Siglent 4 channel 200MHz oscilloscope (also from Telonic) as amongst the most useful items of test equipment in my workshop.
Telonic’s service was excellent. I ordered it on Wednesday around lunchtime and it was delivered to me up in Cumbria early the following morning.
